Semi Wet

The semi-wet process, also called Spray Drying Absorber (SDA), consists in spraying or atomising milk of lime into a well-designed reactor.
 

The Milk of Lime (MoL) has a double function:

• It ensures the conditioning of the flue gas by increasing humidity and reducing temperature.
• It ensures the fine dispersion of the calcium hydroxide in fine particles after drying the droplets.

Milk of Lime is either prepared in-situ from hydrated lime, quicklime or delivered as ready-to-use slurry.

Moreover Lhoist has developed specific technologies for the preparation and storage of MoL.
