Combined Processes

Many combinations of the different processes presented in the other sections exist.

Since most installations are equipped with filtering units in order to comply with dust emission regulations, the addition of a dry injection to an existing process is a possibility.

Typical examples are

  • Semi wet + dry injection = 3/4 dry process
  • Dry Ultra High Temperature (UHT) injection selective SO2 removal in order to boost the existing FGT process
  • Dry injection to remove HF, HCl and SO3 + wet scrubber
  • Fluidised bed boiler + dry injection
  • Using additional dry injection for the removal of micro-pollutants is an efficient solution to achieve emission standards for dioxins/furans and mercury.

Activated carbon, lignite coke or Minsorb® (non-flammable sorbent) are injected before or after a wet scrubber or a semi-dry unit or even in a duct before a fabric filter or an ESP.
